Chernushka flew in Sputnik 9 and successfully returned to Earth during the early years of the Soviet space program. Our brewer successfully returned to Earth after drinking a few of Temporal Artisan Ales’ Void Series beers. Heavily inspired by the Void Series, this beer features: reiterated mashing and a long boil for high gravity and rich malt flavors; extended aging in unique oak barrels; and inclusion of thoughtful adjuncts. Chernushka was aged for 16 months in oak port barrels from JM Cellars in Maltby, WA, and includes vanilla from Wendi Farms in Ferndale, WA/Masaka, Uganda, and maple syrup-like, candy cap mushrooms.
