Despite playing in the sweltering Florida summer sun, against one of the best teams in the world (Italy – who lists in final), they managed to win that game 1-0 in front of what seemed like 70,000 drunk Irish fans.
Their manger and famous Geordie (not Irish) Jack Charlton was contending with the officials for not allowing water breaks, so he would throw water at his players to keep them cool.
