Fun fact – the geographic country of New Zealand was formed 85 Million years ago when is separated from Gondwana and Australia, which is before FUCKING MODERN DAY MAMMALS HAD EVOLVED FROM REPTILES. As a result, there are zero native mammals on either island. As the Polynesians and the Moriori populated the land, mammals like rats and dogs found their way – and the colonizers brought pigs, sheep, deer etc. But still, there’s no apex predator there. And thus, the many species of flightless birds (16 now, but it used to 40ish), both big and small, roam the country without a care in the world. Pretty nuts, huh? So there’s that. Oh also, this beer. It’s brewed with Manzanita hops from Freestyle Hops in Moutere on the South Island of NZ, and a lil Citra too. It’s super tropical – like notes of papaya, candied orange, mango & plantain – and will be extinct in no time due to overconsumption. Just like the moa!
